is in rainy British Columbia as he sits
down to talk to Charles this issue.
James and Charles talk about the kind
of people who are drawn to affiliate
marketing and what some of their motivation
are for getting involved in affiliate
marketing. Affiliate marketing is a
niche model of how to earn money on
the Internet. What James likes the most
about affiliate marketing is the layering
where you create a site with multiple
pages and multiple merchants with every
page being another opportunity to earn
money for the owner of the website.
The greatest advantage of selling other
peoples products on a pay for performance
basis is that there is no product to
buy there are no sales calls to make
you don’t have to rely on a down line
to produce for you. Another great advantage
is that affiliate marketers are not
captive to the company that they are
selling for they can jump to another
merchant at any time they wish. Now
merchants are having to compete with
each other for the affiliates. James
talks about Bob and Sheila who used
to live near James. Sheila was a success
full info topic marketer before meeting
James. Bob bought James’ book and dug
in developing his own very successful
affiliate marketing business. James
has found no common link between people
who have been successful in affiliate
marketing beyond the desire to just
make it work. James and Charles talk
about an inbound link workshop and a
question a student of James’ had during
the workshop. The basic question was
if you have a PAD article where do you
link your PAD article back to? James
creates a page of content which links
back to his merchant. The answer is
essentially to link back to your product
pages. Remember that your home page
is a product page. You do not link to
your article pages when you can link
back to your product pages where people
will click through to the merchant.
James and Charles talk about winning
and how people get off track. The most
common area where people need help is
when they get off track. The best policy
is to remain focused on one particular
approach. Taking the time to do it right
and not getting distracted by things
which do not matter is integral to success
in any business.
